Harys Baratheon

Harris Baratheon, The Foolish, also called The King who feasts, and the Lord of the Seven Courses, was the firstborn son of Renly Baratheon, and the King of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. He inherited the iron throne after his father's death during the second Greyjoy Rebellion, and married Gianna of Dorne who died giving birth to his only son, Rickon Baratheon .

History

Harris Baratheon was the firstborn of Renly Baratheon's two sons. His brother, Joseph Baratheon, and himself were raised in King's Landing alongside their father's ward, Alester Targaryen. Harris and Alester were quick to become friends, and their bond lasted well into Harris's own reign.

When his father died soon after the second Greyjoy Rebellion Harris inherited his lord father's titles, becoming King of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. Throughout his rule he was known for his excessive feasting and the many tournaments held at his pleasure, two things which did not sit well with the lords and smallfolk of Westeros, as a long winter was only just reaching its close.

Recent History

First Era:

After the old Hand's death, King Harris named his childhood friend, Alester Targaryen, as the new Hand of the King. This political move, alongside the king's previous disrespect to his Lord Paramounts and his young age, led many to begin questioning his capabilities as a king. During the council on Bloodstone several prominent figures met to plot his usurpation.

Soon after, Maude Tyrell, a lady of House Tyrell whom Harris had grown smitten with, went missing. On the advice of a member of the small council Harris was led to believe (correctly) that it was Gylen Hightower who had kidnapped the girl, and against the sage advice of his council and his brother he led most of the Baratheon and crown troops south in order to confront the lord at Oldtown.

While there Lannister and Golden Company forces sacked the city of King's Landing and placed Damon Lannister on the iron throne. When Harris heard this news he promptly marched his forces back north, calling his bannermen, and amassing the stormlords who still gave fealty to him. This clash soon cumulated into the battle of the Kingswood where the usurper troops and Baratheon troops fought their final battle.

King Harris Baratheon was killed by the usurper Damon Lannister during this fray, ending the first era, and marking the first day of spring.
