Olyvar Bolton

Olyvar sits as the head of House Bolton, with only himself and his sister being all that remain of the house. He is the Husband of Lyanna Stark and the twin brother of Bethany Stark (neè Bolton). 

History

Olyvar Bolton was the second born child of Lord Walton Bolton and Lady Bethany Bolton. His Elder brother Eldrick was heir to the Dreadfort and from an ealy age had proven to be his fathers favorite son. Olyvar, born after the two daughters Kyra and Barbrey, is the twin of Bethany Bolton named after their mother. As the two babies of the family it was their mother who they spent most of their time with. As the male twin and second born son Olyvar underwent classes that would give him the best chances of helping his elder brother rule The Dreadfort.

At the age of ten and six Olyvar it transpired that his father, whilst at another feast of the King's, had had a spat with King Harys and had rushed North quickly in order to raise arms against him. 

Once his Father arrived at the Dreadfort he immediately called the banners. In no time at all however, Edmure Stark had taken out the Bolton army and came for the castle. Lord Walton Bolton in a plea to save his family gave himself up. However Edmure Stark wanted the death of the entire family. Whilst the battle raged on Olyvar took Bethany and hid in one of the many secret passages within the Dreadfort. There from a tiny cut out in the stone they could see Edmure put the sword to their family. 

Recent History

First Era

Bethany and Olyvar hid in the Dreadfort's catacombs, hiding from those that stayed behind in the castle after the war. Olyvar would occassionally sneak out to steal from the kitchen's, using doors and stairways that no-one but the family knew about. It was on one of these hunts for food when Olyvar overheard two soldiers talking about him and Bethany. 

Learning that they were believed to be dead, dying in the raid on the castle itself Olyvar led Bethany away from The Dreadfort and south, on the roads.

Second Era

After moving place to place, never stopping for long for fear of being caught or found out Olyvar and Bethany found themselves in White Harbour where Olyvar worked as a dockhand.

Third Era

Olyvar continued to work as a dock hand until one day when he saw Lord Jojen Stark and Ser Thaddius Lannister unboarding from their ship. There was mistaking who Thaddius was as the man wore his Lannister garb proudly, leaving the slightly familliar face to be Jojen Stark, Lord of House Stark. With them was Thaddius' squire, who looked to be sent on an errand by Thaddius with another man. One Olyvar had never seen before. Olyvar acted quickly and was able to break the two apart, eventually getting Thaddius' squire to go with him under the guise of helping him. 

Olyvar learnt all he could from the Squire and the rest he got Bethany to learn before they set off towards Winterfell, determined to give Thaddius' squire back to Lord Jojen during a meeting which Lord Stark had annouced. At the meeting Olyvar introduced himself as Olyvar Bolton, and Jojen and Olyvar had a private meeting away from the other Lords. Perhaps out of guilt of what his brother had done, or out of fear that Olyvar had seen something or the Squire had told him somthing about the relationship between Jojen and Thaddius, Jojen restored House Bolton and gave Olyvar the title of Lord and reign over the old Bolton lands.

Fourth Era

After the restoration of his House, Olyvar moved forward on his plans to fix up The Dreadfort after the Uprising, and help give back to the people who stayed loyal to his house. His newly appointed title of Lordship looming over his head he decided to take on House Manderly after a slight he incurred during the Purple Lion Feast, where the Prince died to a poisoning, turning his face purple.

After beginning the work on his own Castle, with funds from House Stark pouring in after the wedding between Bethany and Jojen, Olyvar enlisted the help of Lord Rickard Whitehill to take on House Manderly of White Harbour.
